On the day that recorded maximum rainfall in Delhi this year, dozens of students gathered in Hudson Lane, Delhi University North Campus to compete in their Food Quotient. Yes, it was the much awaited Spoon Scouts 2.0, a treasure hunt revolving around food hosted by Spoon University- Delhi chapter.
This was a massive event, and had 45 teams participating even after an online screening round. Entries came from several colleges like Hansraj, Miranda, IPCW, KMC, Dyal Singh and so on from DU but also from IPU and Amity University. Each team comprised of 2 to 3 member all of whom gathered at Woodbox Café late in the afternoon. All these qualifiers were the ones who managed to crack the clue to The Vintage Avenue in the online round. From Woodbox Café began the real test of the participants’ familiarity with all the cafes.

An insight into the details of the hunt reveals that it comprised of seven levels with some elimination occurring at each level. Participants were directed to four separate cafes in level 1 & 2 and two different cafes in level 3. In these levels the participants had to not only reach the cafes first but also had to clear the qualifying game to get the next clue. The games included Drink with a Spoon, Whisper Challenge etc. The levels that followed had one café each and no games to qualify. Four teams made it to the final round, with the Slurp and Scoop bagging the first prize. Other winning teams included Lebensmittel, Foodie Pirates and Burp and Tell.
Cafes like Abongchiiz, Bakar, Spezia Bistro, Void, Yolo 21, Jack n Chill, Coalition, The Lab, Mood Swingers, Oakland, Pirates of Campus and Raw Creams were a part of the hunt. The final clue led the contestants to For God’s Cake, which hinted to the variety of desserts they have.
The winners got grand prizes and discount coupons but Spoon DU ensured that no one went empty handed. All participants received goodies which included brownies, coupons from various cafes, drinks from Cocofly, special Spoon notepads and more importantly beautiful memories.
