Possibilities and opportunities are earned and not bestowed on everyone just like that. In this contemporary world, you don’t get anything on a golden platter but you have to make the best use of the resources and make the way into the possibilities.

Unlike primitive age, where there were limited professions and limited roles, the present is characterized by requirement of trained specialists with multi-discipline abilities. Yet, the educational curriculum of the country lacks these elements. To bridge the need and requirement of the industry and students, was founded the unique institution called Talerang.

After a year of conducting research at several organizations and running pilots at a few leading colleges in India, we found that less than 60% of the students surveyed felt ready for a front-office job. Less than 50% had someone to go to for advice on their life path. Almost 50% of students at top undergraduate universities in India do not secure work internships in their college years, which make their first job the first time they have ever worked.

Talerang’s mission is to create work-ready graduates for India, through a unique, experiential model researched as a project at Harvard Business School. They prepare Gen Z for their careers and match them to jobs of the future. Their aim is to impact 20 million students by 2020 and make them work-ready.

In their immersion program, they develop quality entry-level talent through a selective and transformative, 60-hour leadership and work-readiness program with a bridge to summer internship opportunities. The training includes self-awareness, life vision, communication skills, time management, problem solving, resume and interviewing skills. The entire curriculum is experiential and includes Harvard Business School cases.

Talerang’s programs include professional training for those 60 hours followed by proper implementation of skills at full time internships in large MNCs or NGOs, according to the choice of the candidate. Talerang invokes, sharpens, and brushes up skills required by professionals of any industry. The main focus of the program is to give practical and useful training than any bookish knowledge.

The program works as introspection for students helping them decide their interests in specialised fields.

Through a full time internship they also get a taste of corporate life and help them analyse it as a choice of career. This program is particularly helpful for students in a dilemma of choosing between jobs and higher education.
