Mumbai - The Financial Capital of India is the most underrated tourist destination of India.

Being one of the corporate and IT hubs of the country, it is also renowned for its endless opportunities and infinite possibilities that one can grasp here. The city is well connected through air and rail, with railway stations and airports at convenient as well as prime locations. Auto Rickshaws operate in the Northern half of Mumbai and are expensive. Local taxis are conveniently available throughout the city and are quite affordable if shared by 4 people.

Checking into our apartment in Powai, at around 1 pm on Day 1, we set for Bandra Fort and Bandstand at 4pm. Courtesy to the traffic on the Western Expressway, we reached there by sunset. Bandstand is more of a lover’s point but is a beautiful place to watch the sunset. This was followed by a photo session, a fandom these days. By the end of it each one of us was hungry. We proceeded to Carter Road for dinner. Mumbai is an abode of delight for food lovers, and Carter road serves as a hub of such delight. We had dinner at Being Hungry and satiated our hunger with savouring enormous quantities of different biriyanis. We called it a day with a late night stroll around Powai Lake.

The Day 2 began by binging on Vada Pavs from the very famous Shiv Sagar restaurant chain, which we got delivered at our apartment. We then proceeded to Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus via local train. From there we took a walk through the fort area to the magnificent Gateway of India. We then took a ferry ride to elephanta caves. The Elephanta caves are an ordinary Historic sight yet the journey on the ferry was a very pleasant experience. We were absolutely famished till our return to Gateway of India and thus we decided to have some snacks at the famous Bademiya restaurant in Colaba. Enroute our way to our apartment we stopped by at Taporewala Aquarium. It is India’s first ever aquarium and is built out of grandeur hosting 22,000 species of fish. For dinner we got amazing thin crust pizzas delivered from Eva’s pizza to our doorstep.

For Day 3, we took a spiritual turn and went to visit Haji Ali Dargah and Sri Siddhivinayak Temple. Later we visited St. Peter’s Church for the mass at midnight, for it was Christmas Eve. Prior to that we had our Christmas Feast at Appetite Restro-bar, which was the best meal of our tour. We had a train to catch the next day, so we went to Juhu beach early morning to have some last memories with the sea. The afternoon was spent lurking in malls of Powai before we departed to Bandra Terminus to catch our train back to Delhi.

At last, I would say that Mumbai is really the "City of Dreams" and the most appropriate destination in India to see your dreams come alive!
