Quite recently India was exposed to experience what is called 'Intolerance'. As we all know Aamir Khan’s personal thoughts bagged a plethora of negative criticism under the light of intolerance issue.

Well, a critic can never truly understand what the person means by stating something. We can interpret any statement the way we want to and create a fuss about it. It's actually unethical to do this in the first place. Taking the much hyped issue of rising intolerance in our country, the fact that Aamir Khan received a lot of flak for his thoughts itself proves that India is intolerant towards digesting anyone else's point of view. Deep down we tremendously acknowledge the fact that Aamir Khan never insulted India, he's just opinionated like all of us. So is it right to barge in on someone else's opinions and nitpick?

It is undeniable to take into consideration the fact that Mr. Aamir Khan has made a tremendous contribution towards the betterment of the country, all the way from showcasing the varied heritage of 'Incredible India' to 'Satyamev Jayate', yet the fact that one opinion from his mind gives us a tumour, is a sad fact indeed. Sania Mirza married a man whose nationality is not Indian, so even if she settles in some other country, she'd be still an Indian by heart. As we all sing 'Phir bhi Dil Hai Hindustani', in the same way Mr. Khan will remain an Indian even if he decides to migrate to some other country for so and so reasons. It's his own personal choice and nobody can question it.

There is nothing wrong with settling in some other country, if somebody wants to. Why do we restrict our definition of motherland to our country? Why not state or city? Well in that case it’d be wrong to even leave the city we were born in? Why do we propagate patriotism, I rather believe in propagating love for humanity and nature as a whole. Countries are just the creation of our ancestors who failed to live as one.

This whole world is one big country and this world is fragmented. Each fragment is given a name, a continent, an identity. The bigger picture is that we all live under the same roof so we must propagate love, not unwanted patriotism that caters to the infringement of one's rights. Aamir Khan would still be one of the most loved celebrities the country has ever witnessed and after all this fiasco, he might just say, "Arrey, Peekay ho kya?"
