North Campus – All that Indian students desire for. “Heaven for Students”, “Heart of DU” etc. have become sort of synonyms for this place. And truly, this place is one of its kind. Of course colleges existing from centuries constitute North Campus but apart from the legacy, there is a lot more the campus has got to serve. The enduring college buildings of SRCC, Stephen’s, KMC etc. built hundreds of years ago, beautifully streamlined lane after lane altogether gives a distinct touch to the entire region. During the shiny summer or the wintery chills or amid the beautiful monsoon, in spite of the fluctuating weather, one thing that remains constant here is the zeal and atmosphere.
Everyday there is humungous crowd queued to enter the ‘Vishwavidyalaya’ metro station (quite aptly named after the campus, giving a brief about the unimaginable number of students studying here). Apart from studies, one can avail a lot of incentives from DU as it has a number of activities incorporated in it.
As it is said, ‘A college life without societies is a college life half lived.’ DU is an inevitable reason behind it. North Campus is also a personality stimulator as it provides great exposure through internships, NGOs, clubs etc. having an ability to adapt all sorts of talent.
Undeniably, North Campus is the most student friendly place to reside in because of the central market of Kamla Nagar, of course. Consisting of a number of outlets that provide an unbelievable combination of ‘Low Cost, Finger-licking Taste’- Tom Uncle’s Maggie point, DSE’s canteen or Momo’s Point has attracted a plethora of students from the campus. North Campus is the hub of PGs, providing an opportunity to interact with people from different parts of the country. Also some unnoticed advantages are easy and economical conveyance which is unlikely to be seen everywhere.
Moreover, as the semester reaches end, the pressure is noticeable throughout the campus. Worried faces, books and tension is what that surrounds every garden, outlet and roadside. The Xerox shops are flooded with people demanding copied notes. Yet, the atmosphere remains exuberant and lively in its own unique way.
Conclusively, North Campus is like a complete package for students in each and every aspect. It enlivens the Delhi University and it won’t be an exaggeration to say that it provides a great platform to students to enhance their personalities and make the best out of opportunities.
