Waiting for a new OS? Here’s a good news for you, Oxygen oneplus one launched a brand new OS in April this year. Oxygen launched the OS as a surprising turn of events by breaking all chords with cyanogen. The OS is based on Android 5.0 Lollipop version.
This is what OnePlus Co-Founder Carl Pei said about OxygenOS- "By creating our own operating system, we can quickly respond to user feedback and make it easier for you to continue playing a fundamental role in the future of OnePlus. Our goal for OxygenOS is to provide faster, more meaningful updates and a better-integrated range of services for every OnePlus user."
Some of the prime features of the OS include gestures such as a double tap to wake, flashlight and rest same as before. You can also directly customize the location of your quick settings right from the notification center, also there’s a small ‘x’ button in the multitasking menu to discard all your apps to once. While in the forum there is a post about a new app that will let users give their feedback about the OS.
The glitches have been replaced by some awesome new features like onscreen navigation bar is gone to add more buttons, the screencast and audio FX apps are gone too. To know about installation and instructions you can click here
Now let’s have a look at the pros and cons:-
Pros
The system is stable with no touch issues.
OS is pure android based.
Camera app works really well.
All apps are from Google only.
Less weight and faster UI.
Cons
No live display
No theme engine
No privacy guard
Unable to copy files from PC
You can’t turn off charging LED light.
Not showing backup ROM to restore backup
Talking about performance, it is pretty fluid, the battery is decent. Comparing with other OSs in market currently, this is way better. Though it’s unfair to expect much in version 1.0, it has been listed for user benefit.
