Is #selfiewithdaughter an adequate measure?

​#selfiewithdaughter - An initiative by our respected Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi to bring the daughters of this nation at par with men in terms of social equality and status. But is it adequate really? Can posting a selfie with daughter actually give women the respect they deserve?

'God Bharayi' or Baby Shower as we say in English is a gala ceremony where a pregnant woman is blessed to give birth to a healthy baby (at least I believed this). But no, in India it has a bit different connotation about which I came to know when I visited one. So, it was organized by a silver spoon fed family. Everything was going smooth till the moment when they concluded their blessings by giving their daughter-in-law a doll dressed in blue, which clearly denoted a baby boy. It left me astounded. A family that is so rich is so meager when it comes to intellect level. I fail to understand why people go on having hues and cries for boys? Why they don't have girls as first preference? Is it shameful to have girls? Or do they really tarnish the reputation of the family?

I mean okay, go on preferring boys. They are the so called successors of your family. But then why do you weep when your beloved successors cut out all the old branches of your family tree, when they actually kick you out of your own homes? It's like they are the successors anyways, so it's their call if they want to keep you or not, right? Girls are always seen as a burden, as a shame to the family. It's the girls who are more rebellious. Women only go around raping men. Girls are usually physically abusing at homes. They usually go on treating their fathers as lower grade worker. They go on passing lewd comments when they see men passing by. They are the one who go on verbally abusing their husbands, children and beating them after getting drunk. Yes, you're absolutely right. Women are shameful for the society. They have victimized the males.

For once let's think what actually the difference between males and females is. How do you know that a man is a man and that a woman is a woman? These are just the labels or scientific names given to them on the basis of diversification of their bodies. But now, people have started considering man to be a superior race. I agree that scientific diversification was necessary, but this social diversification was not. Women are not given the dues they truly deserve. If a man is working outside for 9 hours he is considered as someone who is actually working cause he is earning. But when a woman works round the clock for her family, gets up early, wakes her husband and children, cook meals throughout the day, nurture her family, takes care of her children and elders, arranges the house, performs various chores and is the last one to sleep even then she is considered just a house wife, non-working just cause she doesn't earn for all this. She works the most and the hardest but even then she is not paid, not just in monetary terms but also in the terms of respect.

In most of the houses the final decision rests in the hands of the man. Why? Is woman an inferior race? Can't she take right decisions? If a husband doesn't ask his wife before taking some decisions, whether important or not so important, then why can't the wife retaliate? It won't be awry, I surmise.

People have always looked down upon women. Even at the time of industrialization. Women were made to work more than a man but paid less than them. Why? They weren't humans? They didn't get tired?

I fail to realize why people are unable to understand that girls and women, in whole females are necessary for the society to work. People can't get their 'succeeding' male kin without the help of these females coz ultimately they are the ones who bore them. And usually husbands and their families go on blaming the wives for bearing a girl child. Why do you fail to realize that your girl is more of you than of her? Cause a woman produces only one type of egg that is X and a male produces two kinds of sperms, X and Y and a female zygote

is produced when X sperm of a man fuses with the X egg of the female.

So if you don't want a girl child, remove the X sperm that you're having. Problem solved. Easy it is, right? If you can't change your thinking, it is better you change your sperms.

And yes, if you can't change your mindset even now then prepare yourselves to see some gays. They're going to be a common sight in near future. Not that I have any issue with gays. But it's your narrow ethos which won't approve of them either. You can't kill both of them now!

The gist is till the time mentality of people doesn't change in India any such initiative would just go in vain. We need to understand a daughter doesn’t bring shame to family rather she brings good luck and prosperity. And most importantly a son may someday forget his parents but a daughter would never. So don’t just click selfies with your daughters but respect and feel proud of her.
