"Kerala - God's own country", they say. Anyone who has visited the place would completely agree. A place untouched by the exploitation of man's rampant encroachment, where one meets its true self with nature. Since in solitude with nature there is healing, one find its true self. From places to people, everything is simple, soothing and appealing to eyes and heart.
The state is a cultural heritage hub which has been bringing forward our ancestors’ legacies since centuries. Due to the place’s geographical solitariness, one would find a completely different lifestyle in Kerala from the rest of the country which is the main reason of its uniqueness. Home to a number of pilgrimage sites, Kerala is also famous for its Onam festival and classical dance forms like Kathakali worldwide.
When talked in statistical terms, Kerala is a top attraction for tourists with literacy rate nearly up to 91%, highest in India. Kerala also enjoys the status of being the only state with female sex ratio exceeding male. A place where caste system is not an issue coz people are literate and above these orthodox beliefs. A woman is placed ahead of a man. Here maternal surname is inherited. Surely Kerala stands a great deal ahead in terms of standards and civilization and yet they are grounded and attached to their roots. From eateries to dressing, no place can match Kerala’s serenity because people here not only believe in working hard but are also mature and wise enough to not "show off" or buzz around. Focused on their work, they’ve produced some finest brains of the nation. Kerala is one of those rare places left in India which are still unaffected by western influence. And perhaps this is the reason why it attracts tourists from all over the world.
Beaches like Hawa Beach, Kovalam Beach are covered with greenery all around. From numerous lakes and dams to recreational sites like backwater, lion safari, elephant iteration, museums, botanical gardens the place never fails to give the best of the views to the visitors with memories overloaded. If you’re someone who loves to be close to nature then Kerala won’t disappoint you even a bit because it’s a habitat to various flora and fauna species that you won’t find anywhere else in the country. Atthirapilly Waterfalls, Thommankuttu Waterfalls, Palaruvi Waterfalls etc. will mesmerize you with their untainted beauty for sure. Famous for its natural healing and Ayurveda, the city has everything to leave one awestruck. A place worth visiting coz it not only rewards you with beautiful places to visit but also reconnects you to yourself and reminds you that you still are a countryperson of a spiritual nation not a materialistic one.
Conclusively, I would just say that you'll fall in love this place at first sight and it would definitely make you realize that peace lies in the solitude of the soul of the nature rather than in fast competing life or malls or a virtual life.
How to reach?
