So, if your Mommy’s not at home and hunger strikes your stomach, here are a few instant cookery items you can reckon on:

1. Poha: ‘Vegetable Poha’ can be one good option of instantly cussing out your hunger with a nice impression on your taste buds. It’s proven to be a healthy snack by all the mothers and grandmothers around India. Full of vegetables and added peanuts, it’s a rich source of vitamins and minerals.

2. Bread and Peanut Butter: Everyone’s favorite peanut butter with brown bread is all that’s needed to kill hunger. You can also have Jam-Bread or Bread-Butter as its substitutes. YUMMMMM!

3. Salads: Fruits and Vegetables? You don’t have to give it a second thought that whether fruits and vegetables are healthy for you or not. They surely are! A fruit salad with fresh cherries, oranges, apples, blueberries is tempting to eyes and nutritious to body. Also, a vegetable salad with fresh tomatoes, cucumber can prove out to be a bowl enriched with nutrients.

4. Juices: Orange juice, Mousami Juice, Pomegranate Juice are very easy to make and equally healthy options to keep you fit and kill your hunger within blink of an eye. Similarly, some vegetables juices are also an added advantage. *Avoid packed juices and prefer freshly prepared home-made juices

5. Pasta: It’s the most beloved evening snack. These days, garlic pastas in Italian white sauce and red sauce are the new trend amongst food lovers. An appetizing dish, indeed, vegetable pasta can really be healthy too.

6. Milkshakes: A quick and easy way of fighting hunger is making a mango or banana or strawberry or even your favorite biscuit’s shake. A milkshake would take a few minutes to be made and will not let any space left in your stomach for at least 2 hours. Of course milk is the most beneficial drink possible and what’s cherry on the cake is the fruit you would be adding into.
